How do you "Nest" your Nesties?

Just like a bird has its nest and we have our homes (I moved two days ago so I have come to appreciate this even more!), all things have their place...or at least they SHOULD!

And we all know when it comes to crafting, yikes! WHERE do you put it all?

I struggle with this daily, LOL...but I have to say that I am pretty happy with the little storage system I came up with for my Nestabilities, my favorite die-cutting tools available at Die Cuts R Us!

The Nestabilities nest so nicely within themselves but when you start to accumulate them in their little plastic packaging, they can be difficult to contain. I've seen some great storage finds from magnetic corkboards to altered shoeboxes to keep at home, but I like to travel sometimes to stamp with friends, etc., so something a bit more portable than a corkboard was in order for me ;)I had this pink zipper binder from Quickutz and after two years (I got it on clearance a LONG time ago), it was still empty. I figured I'd put it to good use! Forgive me in advance for my pictures-I have NO idea where my camera is right now w/ this move, LOL...so I took pics in my kitchen using my Blackberry ;) You can still see them pretty well, though!I got some chipboard and some magnet paper (available at most craft and hobby stores by the roll) along with some tacky glue. I custom cut the chipboard to fit in the pink zippered binder and cut the magnet paper to fit, then I used the tacky glue w/ a sponge paint brush to adhere the magnet paper onto BOTH sides of the chipboard.I then lined up the 6x8 piece of magnet-covered chipboard with the 3 inner rings of the binder and used my Crop-a-dile to punch 3 holes in each page. The whole process took me about 15 or 20 minutes and now ALL my Nesties fit inside and stick to both sides of the magnetic pages. You can use ANY binder, but I'd recommend it have a closure as you may get the occasional straggler ;) All in all this system works perfectly for me and at approximately 6x9 in size, it's really portable too!

How do YOU store your Nestabilities? Did you find this blog entry helpful? We'd love to hear from you! Leave us a comment and let us know! Have a wonderful Thursday, everyone!

I'll be back next week...stay tuned!

Jessica! I certainly wouldn't be organized enough after a move to pull this together! I love your Nestie binder. I just got the Petite Circl Nesties from DCRU and this is a great way to organize my Nestie collection that I think will continue to grow :o)

Currently I'm storing my nesties in CD cases that are lined with the Quickutz magnetic sheets. It works great for the Cookie Cutter Dies too. However, I like your binder idea so much better for transporting! I think I'll have to try this. Thanks so much Jessica for sharing this idea, especially with so much on your plate right now. Good luck unpacking.

Smiles!

I posted my nestabilities storage on my blog, it isn't beautiful but it works for me. I have to get some more, it is amazing the uses you find for these little hooks. Sandi

Jessica what a great idea!!! Nesties can quickly get in a mess if you leave them on the store packaging! Love your idea, can't wait to make my own Nesties Album!

You have helped me so much with this idea. I had no idea as to how I would store my nesties. I currently only have one set, but I buy in bulk. Thanks for the idea!
