Positively Stunning Negative Challenge!

Welcome to the Tuesday Die Cuts R Us Challenge. This weeks challenge is to make something stunning from a negative image. You can use anything you want, as long as it is the remnant of another intention. Cut some hearts with a Cricut, use the Negative image, have a Spellbinders Nestabilitie cut out, you can use it too. How about a paper punch negative, the sky's the limit with this challenge. The design team has come up with a few ideas to get you started.

Carole made this stunning card from her Cricut negative, love the graduated sizes, and adding 1 of the positive flowers for extra interest. And I just Love the way your love sentiment sits on top of the opening. Carole's recipe: Paper: K&Co. Cricut: Walk In My Garden (Flowers Negative, and Positive) Leaves: Martha Stewart Punch Scallop Edge: Martha Stewart Punch Sentiment: Cricut, Calligraphy Collection (Love) Flower: Gem

Cara's card is so cool! She used the negative from last weeks challenge card to make this one! And you can see for yourself that it looks totally different, yet equally beautiful.
Cara's recipe: Cricut Expression, Cricut Cartridge Stretch Your Imagination, Zig 2 Way Glue, Zots Medium Glue Dots, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Circles and Petite Scallop Circles-from DCRU Store; Stampin' Up cardstock, ink, felt flower, jeweled brad, word window punch, stamp; Wausau paper-Royal Metallics-Champagne Pearl on Courtly Cream

Amber's card is so cute and creative, I love the way the limb of the tree is poking out of the Nestabilitie scalloped circle. And the little bird is so sweet!
Amber's recipe:
Negative from scalloped oval Spellbinder Nestabilities (available at DCRU)
Paper - Colorbook & Core'dinations
Stamps - American Crafts Laughter (available at DCRU)
Copics (available at DCRU)
Cuttlebug & Swiss Dots (available at DCRU)

Gwen made this adorable card with lots of layers and details. She used two leftover negatives on this card! I love the colors, and the owls are just too cute!
Gwen's recipe:
Quickutz Nesting Flowers Negatives
Quickutz Chicken Noodle LE Font Negative
Xyron 150
DCWV Whimsy Stack

Margie made us a real "twofer" two for the price of one! She very cleverly made 2 cards utilizing the scrap negatives from one to use on the other. Here's another view of the cards.
I love all the details, the butterflies look so cute scattered around the opening, and the ribbon gives it the finished touch.
Margie's recipe:
The Greeting Farm Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set
Papertrey Ink Kraft CS; Stampin Up Vanilla Confetti CS;Stampin Up DP
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Labels 8 Nestabilities; Swiss Dot Folder; Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch; misc ribbon
This is my card, I had so much fun making it. In fact it was one of
the cards I submitted to be chosen for this design team.
my recipe:
For my negative image I used the little flowers from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge. Spellbinders Petite Ovals Nestabilities , Pink Pirouette - Stampin up and
white Wausau papers. Three vellum flowers punched with Stampin up punch, vellum from Paper and More, ribbon's and seed beads.
Sammye Jo's Gift is made from all scraps as well! The box was packaging from Martha Stewart Baking Twine that she recycled. She added a scrap piece of ribbon, inked the edges of some scrap SU cardstock and adhered to the top, and cut some flower layers and petals from her scrap stash using QuicKutz. Add a little sentiment and some candy and you have a cute Thank You gift for that special LifeSaver :)

I hope we have inspired you with this challenge to see your scraps in a different light. The design team did an awesome job of putting these cards together. Now we would love to see what you can come up with. So start digging in your trash or take out your stash,
then cut it, mount it, glue it, and embellish it! Then show us what you've got!
I hope you have fun and play along with us this week.
I can't wait to see what you make! ~Diane
Remember to leave us a comment and a link to your creation, letting us know that you played along. The winners will be chosen Saturday and announced next week. And don't forget to stop by the store and see the all new items, New to Die Cuts R Us September!
