Friendly Flowers!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be doing today's tutorial. This is my very first one with the group and I hope you enjoy it!!!!!
These flowers are sooooo easy peasy to make!!! If you have never made your own flowers then this is perfect for you. If you already do, share your thoughts and ideas because we love hearing from YOU! Just let your imagination go crazy for this one-be creative.

Flower #1:

Watercolor Paper Flower

Materials:

Newspaper

Scissors

Watercolors

Optional: Brads, Stickles or Glitter

Step 1:

Handcut several circles from your newspaper. Be sure to cut all various sizes for when we put our flower together. *Just a little note, check out where you are cutting in case you get a silly article :)

Step 2:

Place your flowers (circles) together. You can layer as many as you would like. Secure your flowers with a brad.

Step 3:

Crumple your flowers and distress with a dark ink around the edges. This will add texture.

Step 4:

Paint your flowers. I love using all of the colors, but the choice is completely yours! I chose to finish mine off with a bit of stickles to add a shimmer.

*The Die Cuts R Us Shop has Scent My Cards which would be perfect for your flowers! You can create cards that smell like baby powder, coffee and my favy BROWNIES!!!! What a great gift!

You can also find the cutest brads and buttons HERE to finish off your flowers.

Flower #2:
Felt Flowers
These flowers are sooooo much fun! The possibilities are just endless and you get to use the Cuttlebug! You can cut or punch any shaped flower and start "watering" your flower by using the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I used the D'Vine Swirl and layered with felt-topped off with some buttons.

Now for my final and most favy flower...ta-da:
Flower #3
Materials:
PP Cardstock- (I used DCWV Garden Party)
I created these flowers just as I did with Flower #2. The only thing different was that I was able to add a customized brad for the center of my flower using the I-Top tool! I am very sure you will be hearing about that one soon :)

Thank so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!!!

Sara,
I've never made my own flowers; I love the idea of "watering" the flowers. Gonna have to give it a try! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial.

Very nice post Sarabeth. I love making lollipop flowers, never used newspaper though. I'm going to have to try that. Your number three flower is my fav too. Love the color and the embossing. Very, very pretty.
