Product Spotlight - Crop-a-dile

Happy Thursday Everyone!!

The Crop-a-dile is the product in the Spotlight today!!!
It is one handy dandy crafting tool!!

The Crop-a-dile is a actually 8 tools in one!! It punches 1/8" and 3/16" holes and sets eyelets, grommets, snaps and more. It is delicate enough to punch through a piece of designer paper and at the same time tough and strong enough to punch through metal. No more hammering, banging, twisting or pounding. This all-in-one tool easily punches through many materials, thick and thin with just the squeeze of your hand. The Crop-a-dile is perfect for a long list of projects, even all sorts of custom made albums which is my personal fav Crop-a-dile project.

The Crop-a-dile is ideal for punching:
  • paper
  • tin
  • fabric
  • leather
  • chipboard
  • wood
  • plastic
  • acrylic
  • poly

So many things popped through my mind, while I was thinking of what to make for today's spotlight. I could make a sweet little Chipboard Album (the crop-a-dile cuts through chipboard like buttah), I could make a little metal pail for all those crafting goodies, a festive magnetic Holiday/Advent Calendar made from a cookie pan (the crop-a-dile cuts through metal like buttah too) for the kiddos or even decorate a pair of Hannah or Ella canvas Keds with ribbons and eyelets....however I decided to make a quick little portable ribbon holder to take with me this weekend while crafting with my Sweet Crafty Peeps!!!

Ribbon Holder Take-a-Long
by
LORi BOYD

I started with an old sour cream container (washed in the dishwasher of course). My Crop-a-dile, Designer Paper of your choice (DCRU has a fabulous selection...Hint hint), and some ribbon still on the roll or off (it's up to you) .

After you cover the container with your scrap paper and/or card stock, you are ready to punch the holes that the ribbon will be pulled through. Then, stick your eyelets (the DCRU kit comes with 400...woo hoo) through the punched holes, use your crop-a-dile to set the eyelet...yep...buttah!!

Once you have all the holes punched and eyelets set, you are ready to load the ribbon spools and stick the ribbons through the eyeleted holes!! Decorate your top (lid) and...

Viola!!!

Ready to be tossed into your Craft Bag, loaded with all the ribbons you plan to use at your scrap or card making meet!!

Here are few other things I created with the help of my handy dandy Crop-a-dile:

Mini Album

The Crop-a-dile can easily set large eyelets without damaging the card stock or design.

You can even punch through 14 paper bags folded in half to make a Paper Bag Album

That's what I did to make this one for my little sweetie, Ella!!
The digi stamp is also named Ella.

The possibilities are endless!!!

What's your favorite Crop-a-dile Project?

I love my crop-o-dile. I haven't had it long but I've used it for lots of altered albums and hang tags. I need to make one of those ribbon tubs!

Lori! What a fantastic ribbon holder! My ribbon spools are everywhere; I would even use this at home. I love it.

And little Ella! Oh, she is precious! Can't wait to go shopping at Stamping Bella's tomorrow. Congratulations on your rubber stamp release! So happy for you!
