Guess Designer Taj White: Thickers love stamps

Hello ladies and a Happy New Year to you all. I pray it has started off wonderfully for you. I am excited to be here with you ladies and hope to share something fun and exciting with you. With that said, I am really bad at getting cards, gifts, or anything that requires being mailed out on time. So with the new year I am trying to turn over a new leaf. While others are working on Valentines Day cards. I am getting started early on my Mothers Day cards. I have already made one card and have three more to go. Yea me, LOL. I adore Thickers by American Crafts, but who doesn't? I love all the colors, sizes, fonts, and the endless possibilities. I would like to share one of the ways I like to play with my Thickers by altering them a tad.

Step 1: Choose your desired Stamp, Inks, and Thickers. I also use my Tim Holtz non stick craft sheet to stamp on. Remove the word/words you wish to alter and place them on your work surface.

Step 2: Use Staz-On Ink in desired color, ink up your stamp. Apply ink to each letter individually. For a bold imprint apply pressure to thicker using your stamp. For a softer stamped image apply slight pressure.

Step 3: If you like this bold look then go with it. However, if you would like to tone it down a little. Then break out the distress inks. Use your distress ink applicator, if you don't have one you can use a soft rag, or Q-tip. I decided to use two different ink colors and in a circular motion apply ink onto letter. Do this with both inks or just one if you choose. Continue until you have the desired look.

Here is my complete project using my altered thickers. I hope you give it a try and remember to have lots of fun.

Supply List
Paper: Basic Grey "Nook and Pantry"; Adhesive: Beacons "Zip Dry", Ek Success "3D-Dots"; Alphabet Stickers: American Crafts "Thickers Darling White", Basic Grey "Nook and Pantry"; Stamp: Prima Marketing "Vintage Author"; Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Tattered Rose, Tea Dye", Staz-On "Jet Black"; Ranger Ink applicator by Tim Holtz; Cardstock Stickers: Basic Grey "Nook and Pantry"; Flower: Prima; Ribbon: Alexx Kesh; Chipboard Shapes: Basic Grey "Nook and Pantry"; Misc: Button, Embroidery Floss

Tip: You can create a different look if you stamp on the edges of the alphabet rather than the entire thing.
So, want to give it a go??? If you do, be sure to leave us a link in the comments to your creation! We'd love t see your version!!!!
Have a great day and we will see you back tomorrow!!!

Taj,

Your card looks great! Good for you for starting early. (Just don't forget where you put them...hehehe...I would do that.) Love the look this technique added to your project, I'm going to have to order some Thickers now so I can try this. Thanks for a fun project idea and a wonderful tutorial. I'm so very happy you agreed to be on the GDT. I hope to see you around again.

Smiles!
Gwen
