Hi everyone and happy Earth Day! Today I want to share with you how I build a scrapbook layout. Scrapbooking is my first love and I adore doing LO's to capture memories. I love following sketches of LO's and enjoy drawing my own also. There are plenty of sketch sites on the web, you can free hand your own ideas, or sit down with a scrapbook magazine and sketch out your favorite LO's.
For today's LO I sketched my own page plan. There is no right or wrong way to do this, because you are creating for yourself and your memories. Check it out:
I am constantly doodling LO's on any scrap of paper I can find...when inspiration hits you've gotta write it down!
Next up I start building my page. I used products from the new Dear Lizzy line by American Crafts that are available at DCRU. These products are the cutest, I love the girly colors and all the feminine touches to this line. I also used my Spellbinder Nestabilities large scallop Borderabilities. This is a must have for scrapbookers, the easiest way to get a perfect scallop for your pages, also available at DCRU. I simply build my layers using different patterned papers, punches, and borders:
All that is left is to decide which pictures to use and embellish:
I wanted to do a Spring LO showcasing my barnyard buddies. I am a farm girl and love nature. I thought Earth Day was the perfect time to share my LO.
If you happen to use my sketch I'd love to see your creation. Leave the link in comments! And Happy Earth Day!!!
