Let's Scor-Pal Away!

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by today; I am very excited about my new tool... The Scor-Pal. Especially because I just learned to make matchbook notepads with it; I have been wanting to make some of these for a while. A matchbook notepad is actually now shipping, with all new customer orders! I've created a quick step by step for you to see how fun the Scor-Pal can be; I can't make a card without my Scor-Pal any more!

Ready... here we go! Oh, you can click on each individual picture to get a larger view.
Cut a piece of cardstock to 8 1/2" x 3" . Make sure that you place the side of the cardstock that will be the outside of the notepad face up. I only mention this because some cardstock is textured.
Now turn the cardstock over and fold.
Decorate the front of the notepad however you like; I used a piece of scrapbook paper from the American Craft Spring & Summer Collection.
Next cut strips of regular 8 1/2" x 11" copy paper 3 inches wide , and using a perforating tool, perforate the paper at 1 inch; this will make it easy to tear off each piece of paper. Then cut the paper in strips 2 3/4 inch (wide). In this case, I used the Scor-Pal Embosser Tool to perforate.

Next I used my EK Success Fastenater to staple the paper to the cardstock. Another great tool you can use to attach the paper is the Crop-A-Dile.
I don't know if you can see it very well, but the perforated part of the paper sits just above the top of the pink CS; making it easy to tear off as needed.
This is the finished matchbook notepad!
Here are some photos of different card styles and alternatives you can create with the Scor-Pal: A gate fold card, an accordion fold card, and a triangle (candy) box. They are not completely finished yet; still have to add some embellishments.

Can you tell I just love the Bo Bunny Flutter Butter paper collection?

The Scor-Pal is available at Die Cuts R Us; you receive a free gift with purchase! You will receive 12 sheets of (in stock) 12x12 paper of your choice.

Have a happy scrappin' day!

Claudia

Claudia,

Great tutorial. I can't wait to try a matchbook notepad of my own. I need to spend some time practiciing with my Scor-pal. I love the idea of using it to perf. paper. That would be a great way to make nice straight perf. lines to decorate too. Oh, the ideas are starting to surface...better go play. :~)

Smiles!
