Christmas Giveaway

Hello everyone! We interrupt our weeklong tutorials to bring you a Christmas giveaway! Don't you just love those unexpected surprises? I am so excited that we will now be carrying My Mind's Eye products at the store, that I am giving away one of their super cute "Colorful Christmas" paper kits. Aren't those snowmen adorable? Can you just imagine the fun Christmas layouts you can make with these?

Their newest collection, Be-Loved, has already shipped and will be here early next week too.
So, I'm sure you are wondering what you have to do to win this kit, right?
Its very simple, just make sure you are a follower, and leave me a comment telling me what your favorite Christmas gift was from your childhood. Mine was my very first Cabbage Patch Kid doll (when I was 8 yo); remember those? She was a red head and her name was Helena.
You have until tomorrow (Friday) at 11:00PM EST to enter; we will announce the winner of this kit on Saturday's post.
I also wanted to take a moment to welcome all our new followers! I am overwhelmed by your wonderful comments and help in spreading the word of our Epic Six Tool Giveaway. Thank you.
Have a happy scrappin' and card makin' day!
Claudia

Its so funny you should ask that but I was only talking to my mum about things I loved getting when I was little the other day as I saw the thing in question and wanted to buy one but when I thought about it realistically as to where I could use it without causeing all the kids of the neighbourhood to die in fits of laughter or cause a road traffic accident I didn't relaspe into my childhood. The thing in question was a space hopper, for those who don't know what it is, a big rubber ball that has 2 handles like ears, you sit on it and bounce as a means of travel. When I was little there were even people who did tricks and acrobatics on them.Have a fab christmas and thanks Julye

Mine would have to be my first Barbie doll and I wish I still had her because she was one of the original first edition of Barbies. I have thought of her and wondered what ever happened to her.

My favorite Christmas gift ever was a gigantic stuffed dog. I loved that thing to death. I insisted on using it as a pillow for years!!!! It still makes me sad that it's gone (Maybe if I hadn't used it as a pillow for so long it would still be here today! lol)

My favorite Christmas gift would be my Barbie. I would have so many of them, different style and look. I just love combing her hair and dressing her up. But my mom sold them at our garage sale so I could buy new toys as I was getting old. Wish I didn't, I could have pass them down to my children(s) or even grandkids later. I love the snowman. Cute DP!

Hi - I am a follower and I love My Minds Eye paper!

My favorite childhood present was a doll with two faces.
You would hit the button on her back and her face would turn... from awake to sleeping.

I was 5 years old!

Hiya girls.
What a fab giveaway - such cute papers.
My favourite present was a huge stuffed teddy bear from my brother - he didn't usually do nice pressies but this one year he walked through the door with this huge parcel "wrapped" in christmas paper - I loved that bear! It was about 2 feet tall and had the cutest face. I gave him to the childrens ward at the local hospital eventually so hopefully he will still have had alot of love! I am already a follower.

My fav gifts at Christmas were the art sets my parents got for me. I couldn't wait to play with all the messy paints, and use the Caligraphy pens and shiny bits!
Once a crafter - always a crafter!! LOL.
Have a great day!

My favorite Christmas gift was from my allergy doctor when I was 3. It was the most awesome teddy bear ever!!! His arms, legs & head turned. He also had clothes on. I still have him and he is still part of the family. He still gets gifts too. He will be 31 this Christmas. I love my Doc :)

I love the Mind's Eye paper. I tried so hard to buy some last year and it never came in. Was so bummed.

My favorite Christmas gift, would have to be the ring I have worn around my finger for the last 21 years. Of course 6 months later I added a matching ring to that ring.

Tammi said...

hmm...that's a lot of Christmas' to think through...I think I would have to say my favorite was roller blades. Both my sister and I got a pair during the same year and we hadn't even asked for them, they just showed up! We were rolling around on them all Christmas day except when we were called inside to eat and go to bed!

Stacie (craft-princess) said...

Wow, what a loaded question. My memory is terrible! But, in thinking I would have to say I really remember getting an easy bake oven and always had to be cooking something!

What cute paper! My favorite gift when I was growing up was a walking doll!

I love this paper! I would say it was my first big dollhouse. I remember everything in it (all the furniture) had multiple pieces and needed to be glued together. I remember my dad complaining about how many pieces there were to the toilet!

One of my favorite was a Monkey stuff animal. He was black and had a banana in one hand and white shoes. My mom still had it and gave it to me a few years ago. They have some others in the store but not like the one I have.

One year I decided to write an entire Christmas play for my parents. I gave my sister and I parts and we had lines and props and everything! We preformed it for them on Christmas morning as one of their gifts! It was so fun! (Super dorky...but fun! LOL!)

Wow! My Mind's Eye, I love their papers. The snowmen dp is adorable.

Let's see...we only had a very few Christmases as kids. The one I remember, I was seven and it was the year Mom gave me a Koala Stuffed Toy. I instantly named it "Benjamen K. Bear" (this was before I realized that Koalas aren't bears but marsupials.) Benji and I spent many years together. He currently resides in my closet. I take him out every now and then to give him a big squeeze.

Smiles!
Gwen

The gift that I remember the best... The large gift I found behind the curtains.. After mum and dad had been sending me to the window SO many times to see if my uncle and aunt was coming over.... I didn´t understand.. And was quite angry with them, because the wanted me to go to the window... ALL THE TIME... But when I found this BIG present with no name on... it was forgotten...
They said they didn´t know who it was for.. So I had to open it... And guess what it was.... Lundby Dollhouse!!!.... That I never could have dreamed of getting.. cause it was quite expencive for us... Wow... Was so happy... Decorated it for several years... Best gift ever!

My dad handmade my sister and I a Barbie doll house for Christmas. The toilet was a dental floss box for the back and a. aquafresh pump toothpaste top for bowl, the curtains were fabric on little dowels, it was tiled and carpeted too. it meant more than anything store bought!

I think my favorite childhood Christmas present was an elaborate set of plastic dinosaurs, with rock outcroppings you could re-arrange, and palm trees.... Santa set the whole thing up under the tree, and I know I spent hours and hours playing with it over several years!

I still have many of my childhood toys (my Weebles Pirate ship -- can you tell I was a tomboy?!), but I don't have the dinosaurs anymore, which is too bad.

(I am a follower on this blog. Thansk for the fun giveaway!)

Thanks for a chance to win that beautiful paper. Just found this blog and can't wait to start playing. (Just have to get through Christmas first).

My favorite present as a kid was getting a CD player. I thought it was the greatest thing ever. My mom even had the present hiding at the neighbors house so I wouldn't guess it before Christmas.

Ooo! I love MME! These lil snowmen are too cute!

I remember my first Barbie! She had short blonde hair and a yellowy-goldish outfit! My prized posession! The day after Xmas, I was suppose to watch my baby sis, who was 6mos old at the time, to make sure she didn't fall off the bed while dad fetched her a bottle... lol! Being a 7yo, I didn't listen and silly lil sis decided to roll off the bed and land on the floor! Of course she wouldn't cooperate and stop crying! ... sigh... didn't even have my Barbie for 24hrs before it was taken away for the rest of the day for not listening!

Yes, 28years later and even though she sold me out - I still love my lil sis ;)
Happy Thursday everyone! ~ margie

well.. as the story goes ( i was way too young to remember this) my grandparents were visitng while my dad was overseas. he sent us ( including his parents) gifts from where he was stationed. my grandmother being old fashioned and very practical asked my dad to send her a new fancy bra. ( anything new in an unopened package to her was fancy) well somehow the tags got mixed up with mine and my grandmothers packages..so guess what 2 year old cried her heart out when to her dismay the "pretty dress up clothes" werent for her.. lol yep that woulda been me! my grandmother felt so guilty she could never wear the bra lol
the actual gift i rememember best was my very own tobaggon (sled) didnt have to wait for my older brothers to share theirs.. it seemed such a long wait while they sledded down the hill then climbed back up for my turn. the joy wasnt so much in the sled itself but that i got to laugh and scream all the way down the hill beside my brothers :) i had to share with my little brother, but we were small enough and the sled large enough we could go down togther... that year he and i became "friends" and still have that special close bond.
i gotta go call the brothers now and reminisce thanks for reminding me of the wonderful memories :) everyone have a safe and lovely christmas! hugs shelly

Oh that is so cute! Love the little snowmen. I think one of my favorite gifts was our dog. My dad gave me a toy poodle and had brought her home early. He hid her in his dresser drawer with a bowl of food. I could hear her yipping and everyone kept telling me it wasn't a dog. :)

Oh this is easy - a dolls house! It was fab and I played with it for hours and hours - my brother got a toy drum kit the same year - so I was quiet in the corner - and he was....well you get the idea!

My brother and I got those really thick gloves one year, and mukluks... We felt with both of them on we totally looked like boxers. We would use the cow bell as an end of round timer. Basically, my brother would pound me silly until I could get to the bell and ring it. He would give me about 30 seconds and then start over.

My favourite Christmas gift I received as a child was a cute doll--they were called "My Child" and they had skin that was really soft--like a high grade felt ;) Mine had red hair and blue eyes just like me. I think I was 9 when I got her. My mom still has it at her house--my niece used to play with it. I think I need to ask for it! Thanks for letting me reminisce and for the chance to win MME goodies!!

Oh! That paper is so cute!

I had a CPK too! Her name was Terry Nessie. I loved her so much! When I unwrapped her, I let my little sister hold her, just for a second, and then she wouldn't give her back! Oh, the commotion. Heehee. Luckily she got a CPK for Christmas too...Crisis averted.

Love the MME lines, so excited to see it in the store! :)

My favorite or most memorable gift was a "piano" phone. The shape was a piano and the keys were where you would dial! It also played music when you hit the keys. It was such a cool phone...even cooler than the cheeseburger phone on Juno. ;)
