Valentine Inspiration

Hello and welcome to another DCRU Inspirational Post! Today I want to share a fun new project that I have been wanting to make for a while, a topiary. I was first inspired to do this at Danielle Flander's Blog, where she made a baby topiary.

So I took the new Die Cuts R Us January Card Kit and made my own topiary for Valentine's day.

My supplies include paper, buttons, and ribbon from the DCRU January Card Kit plus May Arts Ribbon from the DCRU Store. I used stick pins from Maya Road, Prima Flowers, Making Memories Chipboard, and my Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch. I also used my hot glue gun to glue the ribbon spools together. And I painted the wooden ribbon spool and then distressed it with sand paper.

Follow these simple instructions to make your own unique creation:

And now for the finished project:

Such a simple creation! I'm going to sit my topiary in my scrap room as a little Valentine decoration. And the great thing is this project can easily be altered for baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, or holidays. It reminds me of a wedding cake!

If you decide to make one leave the link in comments, I'd love to see it.

Amber! This is a wonderful project with amazing possibilities! I've got a white elephant exchange tomorrow and I'm ready to steal your idea and scrap the project I was going to make. Was that the QK Monarch die cut that you used? I think I missed it on the tute. I'm going back to read it again. I'm really loving this. ABSOLUTELY INSPIRED today!

Smiles!

What a fabulous idea! I'm not as creative, but will have to start thinking outside the box. This is just brilliant.
