Lush Inspiration

Hello everyone! Today I want to show you a fun and easy wall hanging that anyone can make.

At first I was thinking "mini album", so I found a mini scalloped chipboard album in my stash. I hate trimming paper to fit mini albums perfectly, so the easiest trick I've found is to paint the edges of your mini album and then add a pretty paper to the center.

I painted my edges with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint, it looks great on chipboard.

I decided to use my new Spellbinder Big Scalloped Borders that can be purchased at DCRU. The possibilities are endless for this Spellbinder, the perfect size for scrapbooking or cardmaking. Here's a picture of the die cut:

And here are my borders. I cut out 3 so I could layer them:

In honor of this week's Lush Giveaway (keep reading for details) I used a piece of My Mind's Eye Lush Collection Paper as my center. Then I layered on my scalloped borders.

I made a few handmade flowers. See this DCRU Tutorial to learn how to make your own. I added a Title. Instead of ribbon I used vintage seam binder for my bow and added a stick pin.

And at this point I think "hmmmmm this would make a really pretty wall hanging." Most chipboard albums already have a hole for a ring or ribbon to hold the album together. I simply took a piece of Mays Art ribbon and tied it in a loop and ran it thru the premade hole. I then added a button to cover the hole and taadaa - a wall hanging. And the great thing, they would be so easy to mass produce because you have all the other pages of your chipboard album.

Don't forget to play along with this week's DCRU Challenge for the chance to win a wonderful prize from My Mind's Eye, samples of their Lush Collection! DCRU will use Random Generator so all you have to do is participate for a chance to win!!!
